Adachi Museum of Art
A unique garden is appreciated from a distance without walking through it as an art form |
The Adachi Museum’s gardens include the Reception Garden, which first welcomes visitors, the Moss Garden, whose moss shows off its beautiful curves, the Dry Landscape Garden, which is extensively combined with the background mountains, the Pond Garden, which features a school of carp leisurely swimming in the pond, and the White Gravel and Pine Garden, which was made from an image of a picture by Yokoyama Taikan. Every garden freely changes its expression in accordance with the changing seasonal nature and the course of time. Adachi Zenko, founder of the Adachi Museum of Art, travelled all over the country to collect pine trees and stones for the gardens. He devoted his life to making today’s gardens. “Journal of Japanese Gardening”, an American magazine specializing Japanese gardens, has ranked our gardens as the top of the Japanese gardens sequentially since 2003. They are also listed as a “three-star site” in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. Read more.. |

Japan Guide : October, November & December |
October: With typhoon season largely over by the end of September, October offers some of Japan's fairest and most comfortable weather. It's a time of harvest and harvest festivals, outdoor excursions, autumnal hikes and art and culture.
November: For most of Japan, November brings brisk air, clear skies, and radiant autumn foliage, making it a pleasant month to travel. The weather does gradually become chilly, especially in the mornings and evenings, but a hot spring excursion is a simple remedy for any cold spells you may encounter. Keep an eye out for Christmas lights and illumination events—many of which also begin in November.
December: The end of the calendar year sees such seasonal highlights as wide-spread winter illuminations, the start of the ski season and often the first snowfall. Weather ranges from autumnal cool to proper winter cold. |
