New Kyoto Tourism Express Bus Services

Introduced on 1 June as part of the city's efforts to tackle overtourism

 
The Kyoto city government has launched the "Sightseeing Limited Express Bus" services that only stops at major sightseeing spots to combat overtourism and ease overcrowding on local bus lines. One route takes you from Kyoto Station to Ginkakuji Temple via Gojozaka near Kiyomizudera Temple, the Gion district and Heian Jingu Shrine. The other provides a direct route from Kyoto Station to Gojozaka. The Ginkakuji route operates 24 times daily, while the Gojozaka route runs 16 times daily. Yumura Onsen Midoriya

Around 3 hours from Osaka and located near the border of Hyogo Prefecture and Tottori Prefecture, Midoriya” is a new modern Japanese inn, produced by Kazuyuki Ishihara, a world-renowned garden designer. An open-air bath has scenery of a Japanese garden and is available for private use for all overnight guests without additional charge. The lounge is filled with greenery and flowers, and each room is equipped with beds. Also certified as "Welcome baby's accommodation", having a kids' room and facilities for the whole family to enjoy. The inn is also available for whole inn private use. The Yumura Onsen area has been working to preserve the hot spring culture with local residents for a long time and is also making efforts to address SDGs such as hot spring geothermal energy. NO LIMIT! Summer Splash Parade

Universal Studios Japan will be holding the summer event, “NO LIMIT! Summer 2024” for a limited period from Wednesday 3rd July to Sunday 1st September, 2024. Returning this summer for the first time in four years is the soaking wet parade, being reborn as the “NO LIMIT! Summer Splash Parade”. This year’s parade will feature water being sprayed from the floats for the first time ever, completely drenching everything in their paths. Spray each other, Mario and friends, “Marill”, who will be debuting at the parade, many other Water Type Pokémon including an enormous “Gyarados”, and your favourite park characters as well as park entertainers in this Super Refreshing parade entertainment event perfect for the hot summer months. 

Walk Japan launches KYOTO: MOUNTAINS TO THE SEA

 
Walk Japan has launched the new Kyoto: Mountains to the Sea, a fully-guided, eight-day tour that ventures through Kyoto’s backcountry. The tour follows ancient trails that weave their way through valleys and over high passes until culminating on the rugged Sea of Japan coast at Amanohashidate (Pic), rightly considered one of Japan’s three classic vistas. Accommodation is in Japanese inns, where friendly hosts provide warm welcomes and meals composed of locally-sourced and grown ingredients such as Kyoyasai heirloom vegetables, Miyama ayu sweetfish, Tanba buri yellowtail, and saba mackerel. These are the same staples that are celebrated in the cuisine of Kyoto City’s famed ryokan inns and restaurants.
