Mt Tsurugi in Tokushima
The observation deck, where you can enjoy the incredible 360-degree panoramic view shown in the video above, is located at the top of Mount Tsurugi in Tokushima Prefecture. At 1955m, it is the second-highest mountain in western Japan. There are lifts with three different routes to choose from to suit your fitness. The best time to climb it is from lush green May to November when the autumn colours are spectacular. From December to March, there is snow on the mountain, so snow equipment is required. You can reach the summit in about 40 minutes on foot and cable car starting from the trailhead, Minokoshi. The seasonal bus connects Minokoshi and Tokushima and the journey takes two hours. Why not conquer Mt. Tsurugi when you visit Kyoto or Osaka? Read more...
